MD 8018 is a clear adhesive with a generous coating of semi-aggressive adhesive that conforms well to almost any surface texture. For a Medium Duty Adhesive Tape, MD 8018 does not tire easily. The liner for LP is a 80# Kraft which does make it easy to remove and discard. Use MD 8018 when needing a semi-aggressive hold that offers ease of use and minimal adhesive residue when removed.
MD 9000 is a clear adhesive with a red plastic film liner. It has quite a following in Bio-mechanics Labs for a number of reasons. First, it provides a solid hold without leaving excessive residue behind once removed. Second, it has a stiff inner-carrier that makes it easy to handle. Third, it cuts quickly and cleanly and, last but not least, it can be removed and used again and again and again without tiring too quickly. (Application Hint: When removing the plastic film liner, use a sharp object to pierce the poly film, then gently lift off the tape surface. A tack or needle or X-Acto(TM) knife blade works well for this purpose.)
